For a family that truly sees each other once a year, Christmas in one house beats three hotel rooms and a restaurant booking for twenty. In Jávea it also beats the weather at home: December here is mild, the streets are lit from the first week of the month, and the season ends with the Three Kings arriving by boat in the port on 5 January.
The weather in late December
The nearest official 30-year climate record (AEMET, Alicante station) gives December an average daytime maximum of 17.7 °C, nights around 7 °C and about four days with rain in the whole month. Expect lunch outside on the covered terrace, a jumper in the evening and a fire in the lounge afterwards. The saltwater pool can be heated on request (€450 per booking, ask at least a week ahead) — the reviews from our October and November guests say that is the extra worth taking.
What Jávea does at Christmas
Dates shift a little each year, but the shape of the season is constant. The town's Christmas programme in 2025–26 ran from the switching-on of the lights in the old town, the port and the Arenal in the first days of December to a concert in the church of Sant Bertomeu on 6 January. In between: a Christmas fair on the Paseo Jaume I, a children's version of the New Year bells at noon on 31 December on the church square, royal letterboxes at the port and the Arenal from 29 December, and the Royal Camp on 3–4 January.
The highlight for children is the evening of 5 January: the Three Kings land by boat in the port around five o'clock and the parade runs through Aduanas del Mar and the Avenida Jaume I up to the Plaça del Convent in the old town. Christmas dinner for eighteen, without the argument over the kitchen
Four kitchens in total — three indoors and an outdoor kitchen with a charcoal barbecue — mean that whoever wants to cook cooks, and everyone else stays out of the way. The long covered table outside works in December; inside there are three lounges for the evenings after. Jávea's supermarkets deliver to the gate, so the first order can be waiting when you arrive, and a private chef can be arranged for the night itself.
What it costs: fixed festive prices for 18 guests
Our winter promotions are fixed prices for nine bedrooms and up to 18 guests in the main villa — more guests, up to 28, at a supplement on request. End-of-stay cleaning, bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, energy, air conditioning, garden and pool maintenance and concierge services are included.

Pool heating is an optional extra at €450 per booking, and a refundable €1,000 security deposit applies. The festive prices are requested through the form on the winter promotions page and confirmed by us personally; the same dates can also be booked directly in the booking panel at the standard rate.
Christmas and New Year are the first weeks of the year to go — usually a year ahead. Ask early.
Who sleeps where
Nine bedrooms in the main villa across three wings — Nauticaa on the ground floor, 20,000 Leagues and Mystique Travels — plus the step-free casita with a wheelchair-adaptable room and a family room with bunk beds for the Premium package. Grandparents downstairs, teenagers in their own wing, the baby next to its parents: sort it out in advance with the room planner and the beds are made up to your list when you arrive.
