Why a weekend is worth more than an evening

At a party you talk to everyone for five minutes. On a villa weekend you sit over coffee with your old friends on Saturday morning, walk along the sea with your sister in the afternoon, and in the evening the whole group gathers at one long table. The difference is not the budget but the time — and time is exactly what you want at a milestone.

The right place: room for everyone

For a party of twenty to thirty you are not looking for a house but for an estate. Villa Palmview in Jávea, also a villa for family holidays in Spain, was made for it: three private wings around a saltwater pool, eleven bedrooms, eleven bathrooms and room for up to 28 guests. The generations spread themselves across the wings naturally, and the estate — with private sandy beach and barbecue — becomes the party ground.

The party itself: a long table, no script

The best milestone celebrations in a villa are surprisingly simple: one party evening at a long table (bring in a local chef or caterer if you like — the region around Jávea has plenty), one shared outing, and beyond that deliberately plan nothing. The guest of honour does not have to play host: everyone already lives there.

One agreement upfront: it is a celebration, not a festival

For the record: Villa Palmview is a place for celebrations, not for loud parties — late in the evening the music moves indoors and outside it stays quieter at night, as the house rules of any villa in a residential area ask. In practice that is not a limitation but a quality: it keeps the evening about conversation and being together, and keeps the neighbours — and your own sleepers — happy. Always discuss bigger plans (a marquee, live music during the day, extra day guests) in advance.

How to go about it

Pick a weekend outside the school holidays — better availability, friendlier prices — and send invitations well ahead: people need to keep a whole weekend free. Ask the villa about availability for your date; an answer usually comes within 24 hours. And keep the final evening free for the toast everyone came for.
