Jávea's coast runs from the cliffs of the Cap de Sant Antoni in the north to the Granadella in the south: about twenty-five kilometres of headlands, one long bay of sand and a string of pebble coves with the clearest water on the Costa Blanca. From the villa, the sea is 750 metres away and the Arenal a quarter of an hour on foot.

Summer access rules: read before you drive
Since 2026 the town of Xàbia regulates car access to the Granadella and Portitxol coves in summer. Between 2 June and 13 September the rules apply daily, and until 12 October on weekends and public holidays. Parking is paid — € 9 per vehicle per day, with no advance booking — and limited: 130 spaces on Calle del Pic Tort for the Granadella and 59 on Calle de la Barraca for Portitxol. The Avenida del Tío Catalá down to the Granadella is closed to private cars altogether.
The alternative for the Granadella is the tourist train from the La Guardia car park (Carrer de la Falzia 4), running hourly from 10:00 to 19:00 between 3 July and 13 September, € 6 for adults and € 4 for children, seniors and residents, return. There is no shuttle to Portitxol. Rules and dates are published each year by Turisme Xàbia; ask us before you set out and we check the current version.
Which beach for which day
- Arrival day and the last morning: the Arenal. Fifteen minutes on foot, nobody needs the car, beach bars for lunch.
- The photo day: the Granadella — early in the morning or after five in summer, any time from October to May.
- The snorkelling day: Portitxol, then the Cap Prim path for the view over the island (three gems most visitors miss).
- The day with small children: the Arenal again, or the sand at the villa and the pool.
- The day the sea is rough: the pool, the sand on the estate and the games. The coves face east and take the swell.

Inside the walls there is a private stretch of sand with a volleyball court, daybeds in the shade of the trees and the pool a few steps away. To be clear: it is not a sea beach, and under Spanish law no beach can be private — every beach in Spain is public. What you get is sand you share with nobody, 750 metres from the real thing.
