Jávea has a Mediterranean climate with a twist: the Montgó (753 m) shelters the town from the north and catches the autumn storms. Summers are hot and almost dry, winters are mild and mostly sunny, and the two shoulder seasons are the months we would book ourselves.
The figures, month by month
The Spanish meteorological agency AEMET has a weather station in Jávea itself (Jávea/Xàbia, 15 m above sea level), but its long-term normals are not yet published. The table below therefore uses the nearest official 30-year record with full data, AEMET's Alicante station (1981–2010). Temperatures along this coast track each other closely; rainfall does not — Jávea, at the foot of the Montgó, is noticeably wetter than Alicante, especially in the autumn storms, so read the rain column as a floor rather than an average for Jávea.

What the numbers mean for your week
- June to September — the pool season. Dinner outside at ten, the sand in full use, the sea at its warmest in August and September. Book the Granadella early or late in the day; parking is regulated from June (see the beaches and coves of Jávea).
- April, May and October — the shoulder months. Warm days, cool nights, empty coves and the pool heated on request. April is the best-kept secret.
- November to March — the mild season. 17–20 °C by day, clear light, the roads empty and the pro cycling teams in town. The pool is heatable on request (€450 per booking). This is when companies, cycling clubs and golf groups come; see the winter promotions.
- Autumn rain — September and October carry the highest rainfall totals. It usually falls in a few intense days rather than a grey week; the rest of the month is often as sunny as June.
