The Marina Alta is the winter home of professional cycling for a reason: 15–20 °C in January, empty inland roads and the Coll de Rates within riding distance. A training camp here rarely fails on the riding. It fails on the logistics — a hotel that splits the club across three floors, a bike room that is really a corridor, and no table where everyone fits. This guide is the version we would plan for our own club.

Why Jávea, and why between October and May

Jávea sits between the two climbs everyone comes for: the Coll de Rates (6.5 km at 5.4 % from Parcent) and the Cumbre del Sol (4.1 km at 9.4 %, a Vuelta summit finish). From our gate at Camí de la Fontana 39 there are eight road rides, from a 38 km shake-out loop to a 128 km gran fondo over Rates and Guadalest — all with GPX files and printable route cards on the cycling page.

October to May is the season. July and August are for dawn rides only. In January and February you share the roads with the pro teams, and the almond blossom in the Xaló valley comes as a bonus from late January.

Where the bikes sleep — and the rest of the base

  • Secure bike storage out of sight, plus a covered workshop room between the beach and the pool for maintenance — it doubles as a massage space for the soigneur.
  • Eleven bedrooms with eleven bathrooms across three private wings and a step-free casita: nobody shares a shower, and early starters do not wake the rest.
  • Four indoor kitchens and an outdoor kitchen with a long table for 28 — or a private chef on request for the recovery meals.
  • A heatable saltwater pool for the legs (mid and low season on request, €450 per booking) and Starlink Wi-Fi for uploads and calls.
  • Road bike hire, spares and a workshop at Xabia's Bike in town, with 10 % off for our guests — delivery to the gate can be arranged.
  • Alicante airport in about an hour, Valencia in about an hour and twenty minutes.

What a camp costs per rider

The estate is let as a whole, so the sum is simple: the price for your week divided by the number of riders. Our lowest winter from-price (November to February, 18 riders in the main villa, seven nights) works out at about € 58 per rider per night — with the bike room, the pool, the private sand and the long table included, and no platform fees when you book direct. Larger squads fit too: packages run to 18, 22 or 28 guests. Pick your dates in the booking panel below and the exact price for your group appears at once; the from-prices per season are on the prices page.

Planning a January or February camp? The winter promotions include a fixed monthly price for nine bedrooms and up to 18 guests.

Send us your dates and the size of your squad — we reply within a day, and the whole estate is yours for the week.

Five things organisers forget

  • Bring a 34 or bigger at the back for the Cumbre del Sol; the first 500 m ramp to 17.8 %.
  • Send us your rooming list ten days before arrival — the beds are made up to it and every door gets a name sign. The room planner does the work for you.
  • Supermarkets deliver to the gate; time the first order to land after your 16:00 check-in.
  • Ride the climbs in the morning and the coast in the afternoon: the sea breeze picks up from noon.
  • The non-riders are fine here: own sandy beach, the pool, and Jávea's old town five minutes away.
