For club organisers
Every January the WorldTour teams train on these roads. Here is how a cycling club or group of friends does the same from one private estate in Jávea — the climbs, a sample week, where the bikes sleep and what it costs per rider.

The Marina Alta is the winter home of professional cycling for a reason: 15–20 °C in January, empty inland roads and the Coll de Rates within riding distance. A training camp here rarely fails on the riding. It fails on the logistics — a hotel that splits the club across three floors, a bike room that is really a corridor, and no table where everyone fits. This guide is the version we would plan for our own club.
Jávea sits between the two climbs everyone comes for: the Coll de Rates (6.5 km at 5.4 % from Parcent) and the Cumbre del Sol (4.1 km at 9.4 %, a Vuelta summit finish). From our gate at Camí de la Fontana 39 there are eight road rides, from a 38 km shake-out loop to a 128 km gran fondo over Rates and Guadalest — all with GPX files and printable route cards on the cycling page.
October to May is the season. July and August are for dawn rides only. In January and February you share the roads with the pro teams, and the almond blossom in the Xaló valley comes as a bonus from late January.

Seven nights, Saturday to Saturday, built from the eight rides that start at the gate. Swap days freely — the climbs are a short ride apart.
| Day | Ride | Distance | Character |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sat | Arrival, bike build, Cap de la Nau & Granadella | 38 km · ≈490 m | Shake-out loop, punchy |
| Sun | Xaló valley wine loop | 58 km · ≈520 m | Vineyards, one soft climb |
| Mon | Coll de Rates classic | 78 km · ≈850 m | The signature ride |
| Tue | Dénia & Les Rotes | 44 km · ≈400 m | Flat recovery loop, coffee on the seafront |
| Wed | Cumbre del Sol & the Moraira coast | 47 km · ≈670 m | The wall, then the coast |
| Thu | Vall de Laguar & Coll de la Garga | 82 km · ≈960 m | Six hairpins, empty roads |
| Fri | Vall d'Ebo & Castell de Castells | 106 km · ≈1,210 m | The queen stage |
| Sat | Departure — or the Guadalest gran fondo | 128 km · ≈2,240 m | For those staying a day longer |
Distances and climbing are rounded from a 90 m elevation model and can differ from your bike computer by a few percent. Every ride has a GPX for Garmin, Wahoo or Komoot.
